International Yoga Day @ the World School

International Yoga Day @ the World School

Yoga serves as a universal and unifying practice. On the 9th International Yoga Day, people around the world came together to practice yoga, fostering a sense of unity among humankind and promoting the well-being of the planet. Yoga has been an integral part of our culture and traditions since ancient times, offering physical and mental fitness through regular practice.
In celebration of International Yoga Day, The World School organized a special assembly centred around the theme of “Fit India.”

The program commenced with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome speech delivered by our Yoga Teacher, Mr Subramanya. He emphasized the significance of yoga in our lives and proceeded to conduct a live session, demonstrating basic yoga postures, pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, and Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation).

Both students and staff enthusiastically participated in the mass yoga session, embracing the practice with great zeal. Principal Ms Sini Antony expressed that, as a school, it is our foremost responsibility to educate children about the “integration of yoga in our day-to-day lives.”
